Presented by Connie Ragen Green
The goals of this Special Guide are for you to:
- Believe your life experience is valuable
- See at least ONE way that you can monetize it
- Take a simple first step
- Know and believe that I am someone who is qualified to guide you on your entrepreneurial journey. I came online at age 50 and love the lifestyle I’ve created.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re ready for something new.
Maybe you’ve lost a job, are thinking about leaving one, are looking for a “side hustle” or simply know there must be a better way to earn a living.
Let me reassure you of something important:
You are not starting from scratch—you are starting from experience.
Everything you’ve done in your life—your work, your challenges, your skills, your lessons—can be turned into income online.
I’ve created this guide to show you how to begin, step-by-step, and in a way that feels simple, doable, and aligned with who you are.
This guide is designed to do more than just share information—it’s meant to create a shift in how you see yourself and what’s possible for your future.
By the time you finish reading through to the last page, my goal is for you to walk away with these four powerful outcomes:
- Believe Your Experience Is Valuable
For many people over 40, there’s a quiet but persistent thought:
“I’m too late.”
“I don’t have the right skills.”
“The online world is for younger people.”
This guide is here to challenge that belief.
You’ll begin to see that:
- Your past jobs, challenges, and life experiences are not random—they are assets
- The problems you’ve solved in your own life are often the exact problems others are trying to solve right now
- In today’s online world, people are not just looking for experts—they are looking for real people with real experience
By the end of this guide, you’ll start to recognize something powerful:
You already have great value. You just haven’t packaged it yet.
- See At Least ONE Way to Turn That Experience Into Income
Instead of overwhelming you with dozens of options, this guide focuses on clarity.
You don’t need:
- 10 business models
- Complicated funnels
- Technical expertise
What you do need is:
One clear, simple starting point
As you move through this guide, you’ll:
- Identify your most useful knowledge and skills
- Match those to beginner-friendly income paths
- See real, practical examples of how people are earning online
By the end, you should be able to say:
“I can see how this could simply and easily work for me.”
That moment of clarity is where everything begins.
- Take One Simple, Meaningful First Step
Most people get stuck not because they lack ability—but because they feel overwhelmed.
This guide removes that overwhelm by helping you focus on:
- One idea
- One direction
- One small action
You won’t be asked to build a full business overnight.
Instead, you’ll take a step that is:
- Manageable
- Clear
- Achievable within days—not months
Because here’s the truth:
Confidence doesn’t come from thinking—it comes from doing.
By the end of this Special Guide, you will have taken (or be ready to take) your first real step toward earning online.
- Feel Supported and Connected (You’re Not Doing This Alone)
Starting something new—especially later in life—can feel isolating.
You might be wondering:
- “Am I the only one doing this?”
- “What if I fail?”
- “Who can I trust to guide me?”
This guide is meant to show you that:
- You are not alone – I’ve helped thousands of people get started and grow
- There is a simple path forward – If I could find a simple path, so can you
- And you have someone in your corner – I’m dedicating my life to helping others
As you read, my hope is that you feel like:
You’ve found a trusted guide who understands where you are and where you want to go
Because building an online business isn’t just about tactics—it’s about support, encouragement, and direction.
This is just the beginning.
You don’t need to have everything figured out today—you just need to be willing to take the first step.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to do, together.
How to Turn Your Life Experience into Online Income
A Simple Step-by-Step Path to Get Started
You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin.
In fact, the most successful new entrepreneurs don’t start with a perfect plan—they start with a simple process and take one step at a time.
Here’s exactly how to do that:
Step 1: Recognize the Value of Your Experience
Before you do anything else, pause and take this in:
You already have something valuable.
Your life experience includes:
- Skills you’ve learned on the job
- Challenges you’ve overcome
- Lessons you’ve learned the hard way
- Knowledge others are still searching for
Your First Action:
Write down:
- 3–5 things you know how to do well
- 3 problems you’ve solved in your life or work
- 3 topics people ask you about with some regularity
Don’t overthink this. Just get it on paper for now.
Step 2: Choose One Direction (Keep It Simple)
This is where many people get stuck—they try to do too much.
Instead, choose one simple path to begin with.
Here are three beginner-friendly options:
✔ Option 1: Affiliate Marketing – sharing other people’s products, courses, books, and more and earning a commission for doing so
Share and recommend products or tools you already use and trust.
✔ Option 2: Simple Digital Products – there are an unlimited number of simple products you can create, quickly and easily
Turn your knowledge into a checklist, guide, or template.
✔ Option 3: Services – I couldn’t see this for myself until I’d been online for more than a year; you’ll quickly discover what service(s) you could offer that would bring in steady income
Offer help based on what you already know (writing, organizing, proofreading, coaching, etc.)
Your Next Action:
Circle or highlight the ONE option that feels:
- The easiest to start
- The least overwhelming
- The most interesting to you
That’s your starting point.
Step 3: Turn Your Experience into a Simple Idea
Now it’s time to connect your experience to your chosen path.
Ask yourself:
“How can I help someone solve a small problem using what I already know?”
Examples:
- If you’re organized → create a simple planning checklist
- If you’ve managed money → share budgeting tips or tools
- If you’ve worked in an industry → recommend tools or insights
Your Next Action:
Write one simple idea:
“I can help people with ______ by ______.”
Example:
“I can help beginners stay organized by sharing a simple weekly planning template.”
Step 4: Create Something Small (Don’t Overcomplicate It)
You do NOT need to build a full business right now.
Just create something simple:
- A short post
- A recommendation
- A one-page checklist
- A quick tip or lesson
Think progress, not perfection.
Your Next Action:
Create your first small piece of content based on your idea.
Step 5: Share What You’ve Created
This is where things start to feel real.
You don’t need a big audience—you just need to begin.
You can share your idea on:
- Social media
- A simple blog
- A platform like Substack
- Email (if you already have a list)
Your Next Action:
Share your idea in one place.
That’s it. One place. One step.
Step 6: Learn, Adjust, and Keep Going
Your first attempt doesn’t need to be perfect—it just needs to exist.
Pay attention to:
- What feels easy or enjoyable
- What people respond to
- What you want to do more of
Then adjust and continue.
Your Next Action:
Commit to showing up consistently for the next 7 days—even in small ways.
Keep This in Mind as You Begin…
- You are not behind—you are building
- You don’t need to know everything—you just need to start
- Small steps lead to big results over time
- You don’t need permission to begin.
- You don’t need a perfect plan.
- And you don’t need to become someone else to succeed.
- You simply need to use what you already have—and take the first step.
Your Quick Start Checklist
- I wrote down my skills and experiences
- I chose one income path
- I created one simple idea
- I shared something publicly
- I committed to 7 days of action
This Checklist is intended to:
- Reduce overwhelm
- Build momentum
- Position you as a knowledgeable, newer entrepreneur
- Move you toward taking action (and staying connected )
You’re not starting over—you’re starting from a place of solid, hard-earned experience
The biggest mistake people over 40 make when starting online…
People over 40 assume they’re at a disadvantage online.
They think:
- “I’m not tech-savvy enough”
- “I don’t know where to start”
- “This is for younger people”
But here’s the truth:
The people who succeed online are not the youngest…
They are the most helpful.
And you already have something incredibly valuable:
Life experience
You’ve solved problems.
You’ve learned lessons.
You’ve figured things out the hard way.
That’s exactly what people are searching for online.
Next, I’ll show you how to turn that experience into a simple idea you can actually use.
You’re closer than you think.
Most beginners get stuck in one place:
They try to do too much at once.
They look at:
- Affiliate marketing
- Digital products
- Social media
- Blogging
- YouTube
…and then they freeze.
Let’s make this simple.
You only need ONE starting point.
Here are the three easiest ways to begin:
- Recommend products (affiliate marketing)
- Create something small (a checklist or guide)
- Offer a simple service based on what you already know
That’s it.
Pick one.
In fact, reply to this email and tell me which one you’re leaning toward—I read every response.
Next, I’ll show you how to turn your idea into something real (without overthinking it).
Your first step (this is simpler than you think)
Let’s make this real.
Here’s a simple way to start:
Finish this sentence:
“I can help people with ______ by ______.”
That’s it.
Examples:
- “I can help beginners stay organized by sharing a weekly planning checklist.”
- “I can help people save money by recommending simple budgeting tools.”
You don’t need a website.
You don’t need a big audience.
You don’t need everything figured out.
You just need one clear idea.
Once you have that, everything else becomes easier.
How I got started (and what I wish I knew earlier)
When I first started online, I didn’t have a perfect plan.
I didn’t know all the tools.
I didn’t have a big audience.
And I definitely didn’t feel “ready.”
What I did have… was a willingness to try.
I started small:
- Learning one thing at a time
- Sharing what I was discovering
- Recommending tools and resources I believed in
And over time, that turned into something real.
Income. Freedom. Options.
If I could go back, I would tell myself this:
Keep it simple and start sooner.
You don’t need to wait until everything is perfect.
Next, I’m going to share a simple way you can start earning—even as a beginner.
A simple way to start earning online (even as a beginner)
If you’re wondering how to actually start earning online, here’s one of the simplest ways:
Affiliate marketing
It’s exactly what I recommend to beginners because:
- You don’t need to create your own product
- You can start with tools you already use
- It’s simple and scalable over time
This is how I (and many others) got started.
If you’d like to see the tools and resources I personally recommend—and how to begin—you can take a look here:

This is a great next step if you’re ready to move from learning… to doing.
No pressure—just an opportunity when you’re ready.
This is the moment most people hesitate… don’t
At some point, everyone reaches this moment:
They’ve learned a little…
They’ve thought about it…
They can see what’s possible…
And then they hesitate.
Not because they can’t do it…
But because it’s new.
Let me say this clearly:
You don’t need to be perfect to begin.
You don’t need to know everything.
You just need to take the next step.
If you’re ready, here’s a simple place to start:

Or, if you’re not quite ready yet—that’s okay too.
Just promise yourself this:
Don’t give up on the idea that something better is possible for you.
Because it is. And you’re closer than you think.
And I’m here to help you every step of the way.
