
A creative life can be a struggle, but it doesn’t have to be that way. George’s family was supportive from the very beginning.
He was diagnosed with polio at the age of eight, and missed most of the school year. It was during this time that his grandmother introduced him to painting. This became his passion and he began his “10,000 hours” of practice to move closer to mastery.

She bought ‘paint by number’ pictures for him; George turned them over and painted his own pictures! A creative life emerged and an artist came to life.
