Put me in the path of every opportunity where there are people in need. You’re always here for me, Heavenly Father and I want to be here for you. This life can be a struggle, but I will never complain. Many others face truly difficult circumstances and I want to be there for them, working through your love and mercy, as your hands and feet in this world. I have served in the past but have now lost my way. Please ask me to serve, again.
Let me be a light in the darkness, a shelter for the weary,
A voice of kindness where silence lingers, a friend to the forgotten.
Use me, shape me, send me forth—And when the time comes… Ask Me Again!
I’ll serve anywhere, Holy Father, at any time, in any way, and under any circumstances, where the gifts you have bestowed upon me can help me serve someone else.
Ask me to give without seeking reward, to love without condition,
To lift up the broken, to comfort the weary, to stand beside the forgotten.
Let my hands be strong, my heart be open, my spirit be steadfast,
And when I doubt my own strength, remind me it is Yours I carry—Ask Me Again!
Don’t make it easy for me, my God above. Make me work for it, make it difficult and challenging, and force me to stretch and grow as I serve you by serving others. And on any day, when I feel like I can serve no more and I fall to my knees, exhausted, discouraged, or doubtful that what I am doing is making even a small difference in anyone else’s life… As Me Again!
And when I cower in the darkness and cry out, “I cannot see,” shine your light upon me, point me in the right direction,
Brush away my tears with your gentle, loving hands, and Ask Me Again!
When my heart grows weary and the weight of the world bends my back,
Do not lift the burden from me—make me stronger beneath it.
Let the fire of my purpose burn away my fear,
And when I falter, trembling in doubt… Ask Me Again!
When the road stretches long, lonely, and uncertain,
Do not smooth the path—make my steps sure and unwavering.
Let every obstacle become a lesson, every setback a refining flame,
And when I cry out for ease, remind me why I began… Ask Me Again!
Send me where hands are empty, where hearts are heavy, where hope feels lost.
Let me walk among the hurting, the hungry, the forgotten, and the weary.
Not for my own glory, but so they may see You through me,
And when the road is long and the work is hard… Ask Me Again!
When the voices of the world grow loud and try to drown out my calling,
Do not silence them—make my faith unshakable.
Let me rise, unwavering, through the noise and the storms,
And when I question if I am enough… Ask Me Again!
And when I feel small, and insignificant and unworthy of your love, hoist me atop your shoulders,
Let me touch the sky and brush my fingers across the clouds you have created for all creatures great and small,
And ask me again so I will hear you more clearly this time.
Holy One, when the water comes down in buckets and the floodwaters get too high, help me to find my way towards the shore and then, Ask Me Again!
If my efforts are futile and not even a little bit fruitful, or my motives are not pure and my judgements not fair,
Rest your strong and powerful hands upon my shoulders, turn me around to face the light that shines upon you
So that I may see the face of the one who atoned for all of my sins, and Ask Me Again!
If I lose myself in pride or wander far from the path of grace,
Do not let me drift into the shadows—call me back with love.
Strip away my arrogance, humble my heart, refine my soul,
And when I am ready to listen… Ask Me Again!
If my hands grow idle and my spirit restless with doubt,
Do not let me wither in complacency my sweet Lord; breathe new purpose into me.
Fill me with the fire of Your will, the strength to rise once more,
And when I am willing to surrender… Ask Me Again!
“True purpose is not found in ease, but in the willingness to serve, to struggle, and to rise again. When you are called by Heavenly Father, answer with faith, again and again.” ~ Connie Ragen Green
